Privacy Policy

PrepExcel (“we”, “us”) provides SAT preparation and college counseling services for Pakistani students, at prepexcel.org and via WhatsApp. This policy describes what personal information we collect through the website, our WhatsApp numbers, and our booking flows, how we use it, and who we share it with.

Account information. When you sign up, we collect your email address and, via our authentication provider, a securely hashed password. You may also add a display name.

WhatsApp number. We ask for your WhatsApp number so we can send diagnostic reports, progress updates, class/meeting reminders, and respond to your questions. If you message either of our WhatsApp numbers, we receive your number, your WhatsApp display name (if you've set one), and the content of what you send us.

SAT diagnostic and practice data. Your answers to our diagnostic test, practice quizzes, timed quizzes, and mock exams, along with the scores, accuracy, and pacing we calculate from them, and your study plan progress.

College Counselor profile data. If you use our College Counselor product, the academic and personal details you choose to enter — education level, grades, budget range, target countries/field of study, extracurricular activities, achievements, and any personal statement or letter-of-recommendation drafts you write or upload.

Meeting and booking requests. If you book a free strategy session, we collect your name, WhatsApp number, email, city, grade, previous/target SAT scores, target university, and your requested meeting time.

Payment confirmations. We do not process card payments or store bank details on our website. Enrollment is by manual bank transfer: we send you our bank account details and a reference number over WhatsApp, and you send us a screenshot of your transfer receipt along with that reference number, by email or WhatsApp, so we can activate your account.

Messages you send us. Any message you send through our in-app messenger (to your mentor or tutor), by email, or by WhatsApp.

Technical information. Your IP address, browser and device type, and pages visited, collected automatically for security and to keep the site working (see “Cookies” below).

• To score your diagnostic test and practice attempts, and generate your study plan, performance analytics, and AI tutoring responses.
• To match you with a mentor or tutor, schedule live classes and 1-on-1 meetings, and send reminders.
• To send you diagnostic reports, progress updates, and account notifications by WhatsApp and email.
• To verify and activate your enrollment after a bank transfer.
• To respond to questions you send us, including through our automated WhatsApp assistant.
• To keep the platform secure — for example, restricting each account to one active device at a time.
• To understand overall site usage and improve the product, and for marketing analytics (see “Cookies and analytics”).

We don't sell your personal information. We share it with the following service providers, only as needed for them to provide their service to us:

• Supabase — our database, authentication, and file storage provider.
• Vercel — hosts our website and provides aggregate site analytics.
• Meta / WhatsApp Business Platform — delivers the WhatsApp messages described above, including our automated assistant.
• Meta Pixel — loaded on our website for advertising measurement (see “Cookies and analytics”).
• Google (Gemini API) and Zhipu AI (GLM) — process diagnostic, quiz, and profile content to power AI tutoring, study plans, and essay feedback. GLM is used only as a backup if Google's service is unavailable.
• Google Workspace (Gmail) — sends transactional emails such as meeting confirmations, reminders, and message notifications.
• Upstash — schedules delayed and background tasks (for example, a reminder email 30 minutes before a meeting).
• Calendly — if you book a call through a link we send you, you leave our site and interact directly with Calendly under Calendly's own privacy policy. That link includes your WhatsApp number so we can match your booking back to your conversation with us.

We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of PrepExcel, our students, or the public.

We use a small number of cookies:

• Login session (set by Supabase) — keeps you signed in.
• Device check — a security cookie that limits an account to one active device at a time.
• Short-lived UI cookies — remember that you've seen a one-time welcome message, or completed a step in onboarding.

We also load Vercel Analytics, which measures aggregate site usage without using cookies, and the Meta Pixel, which sets its own cookies and is used to measure the effectiveness of our advertising on Meta's platforms. You can control third-party advertising cookies through your browser settings or Meta's own ad preferences.

We keep your information for as long as your account is active, or as long as needed to provide the services above. If you ask us to delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal information, except where we need to keep limited records for legal, accounting, or fraud-prevention reasons.

You can ask us to access, correct, or delete your personal information, or to stop receiving WhatsApp or email messages from us, at any time by emailing prepexcelsat@gmail.com. We'll respond and action reasonable requests within a reasonable time.

Our services are aimed at high-school-age students preparing for university, and enrollment requires a parent or guardian to arrange payment. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 outside of this context. If you believe a child has given us information without appropriate parental awareness, contact us and we'll remove it.

We use industry-standard measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) and access-controlled admin tools. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security, but we don't collect or store your card or bank login details at all — enrollment payments are confirmed manually, as described above.

We may update this policy as our services change. We'll update the “Last updated” date above when we do, and for significant changes we'll let you know via WhatsApp or email.
